kokopelle | A Cautionary Tale

This past weekend I took some pictures of some amazing graffiti on the outside of an abandoned factory in Asheville NC. I looked around the inside of the building and got a handful of abandoned equipment pictures. The interior was damp and the air seemed clear enough. I was coughing by the time I hit the exit. My lovely mate was waiting outside and she began to cough too. I asked her what happened and she said that the wind shifted, blowing into her face just as I was leaving the building. She is very sensitive to irritants of the lungs. Between my experience and hers, it seemed that there was something not quite right with the air in the factory. I had wanted to return to the building with a tripod to get some low light pictures, but decided against the action. What was in the building? I don't know, but this was the first time I had encountered an environment that required some kind of mask. Live and learn...
