    <content type="html">I had some good feedback on the reasons for an alias.  I've included that feedback below and included some of my own.  Next I will post my experiences with people using aliases!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;Start a life from scratch&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Birth name was quite popular and alias differentiates&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Alias has an extra note of affection&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Created for conscious purpose or the person giving it to them gives it for a conscious purpose&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Alias initiates person into a new role / purpose&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Establishes an identity in a sub-culture&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Creates separation between pursuits / interests&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Establish works / creative output under a separate identity&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src="https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/commentcount?user=kokopelle&amp;ditemid=375221" width="30" height="12" alt="comment count unavailable" style="vertical-align: middle;"/&gt; comments</content>
