There are a few people in my life that I am eternally grateful to. Why? They were in my life at a crucial time, or they taught me an incredibly powerful lesson. A few of these people don't even know they've done this for me, and to them the poem “Don't Never Know” is dedicated.

Don't Never Know
Poem for Day 339 – 20151206

You don't never know
when you'll reach out
and touch another
outside your four walls.
It won't be the expected
by the ones you know best.
They may take it for granted
that you'll be aid in their quest.

Look to the edges
the shadows extended
that's where you'll impact
the ones most grateful.
A passing remark
the fleeting smile
it doesn't take much
to impact a life.

A soul may be saved
confidence restored
suffering relieved
when you are yourself.
A life is thus shared
another is touched
when humanity is shared
by those who know not.

© 2015, Sean Green.
