kokopelle: (Cat - Felix Face)
On Sunday lovely [livejournal.com profile] wulfwalker and I were driving around Easley looking for a photographic opportunity. We go on these expeditions on the weekends. A building caught our eye due to it's odd architecture. A curved roof beckoned us to look closer. We found out that the building was built in the 1930s as the fuel terminal for Gulf Oil. The bricks had been made on the property and rafters made from wood harvested from land, cut and bent over template in parking lot. They were carried into the building and flipped up onto the wall support. The property is now used as a shipping location for an excellent Boy Scout collectibles company.

All 45 pictures of the Gulf Oil building are in this flickr set.
