Poem - Prophecy

The poem “Prophecy” was inspired by a list of unusual prophecy techniques.

Prophecy

How to tell what will be
is the act of prophecy
by star or card is the norm
but these not all we have
mice moves to show the way
belly noise are augury
walk in circles till dizzy
look to the soles of the feet
heads and entrails bodings come
boil the ass head on the logs
look to bubbles as they rise
cast the beans black and white
bones thrown to show the way
burn the straws to make smoke
shoulder blade cracked in the fire
as the young view the bath
these I know will tell us much
telling how we see the world
suggesting our own prophecy.
