I'll not give away who famously says "people are saying". Instead I'll let the poem "People Are Saying" speak for itself.


People Are Saying

Something was up
suspicion abounds
people are saying
slurs resound
the unconfirmed
the paranoid
the smoking gun
the tabloid smear
that's what I've heard
there's no question
look to the crowds
people are wondering
in their homes
experts are whispering
in their blogs
pundits are yelling
from their stoops
the volume is deafening
it must be a thing
I'm hear to say
believe me now
people are saying
many in number
it may be true
I made this up
I can't be wrong
something is up
something is up.
