Poem - My Ill
Mar. 26th, 2017 03:20 pmA friend posted a meme that stated, “The boys I have as friends are the reasons why I don’t trust boys”. This really struck me, and I held back stating that I feel the same, but towards the world as a whole. This, and influence from watching certain YouTube videos, led me to write “My Ill”.
My Ill
Coping without scars to body
instead I survive by finding ways
to let out the inner pain
in the ways that do not harm
(this is lie I tell myself)
when the marks do appear
the expression is made gay
laughing jester on the stage
ahead of the curtain hiding all
(purposely done to conceal)
the dislike of the world
angst of the fallen state incurred
by the holiest with the taint
that I’d run from at my worse
(so I don’t wonder)
turned to judge my own mind
reflection of my own kind
wishing I had the scars
to warn the world of my ill.
