I watched an episode of "Without a Trace" that reminded me that people are both informed and mislead by the patterns that make up their recognition of the world. One of the FBI agents tricked a child molester into revealing information by displaying a pattern that the perp recognized as matching his deviant ways. This put the perp at ease when he mistakenly thought that the pattern was indicative of a deeper personality makeup. Wrong.

I find myself twisting against life with disharmonious pattern programming. Other times my patterns serve me well. Can one brother live without the other?
