An Abandoned Factory

This weekend I checked out an empty factory building in Greenville. Some of the structure has already been demolished for the building supplies (bricks, lumber). The core of the original building is still there, as are some really interesting later building husks...

I'm not a big fan of industrial stuff but I really like the lonely desolation of this place. Great perspective!

I look for locations that have 'character'. For instance, it is easy enough to find an abandoned house, but I don't want to just take pictures of weeds and evidence of vandalism. Instead I look for something that tells a story about what used to be there or how things were in the past. I also look for interesting architectural features. I believe that the Greenville factory had both of these qualities.

I agree, I see houses all the time I want to shoot but when I get inside they just have no character. I probably pass up as many as I shoot.
