Hmmm... a little on the dark side. The tunnel one is the hardest to satisfy in this area. There are no subways or military facilities. Oh well, I can always hope.
Angel Island, in the San Francisco Bay, had an old abandoned miliraty prison. Creepy as all getout.
In Marin County, just across the Golden Gate Bridge, there is an old military establichment that has some really interesting bunkers. They were started in WWI, then rebuilt and expanded in WWII. Best view of San Francisco.
Ahhh... the opposite side of the country from me! (smile). I can see future vacations including the "what abandoned locations are there too?" question.
how about Columbia? We're pretty close and there is that wonderfully spooky state hospital on Bull Street. I'm sure you could get in there without too much difficulty. No abandoned prisons though since they demolished CCI. If you and wulfwalker get to the capital city, please let me take you to lunch - or at least a cup of coffee.
