Neat Thrift Store Find
May. 7th, 2009 10:24 pmOne if the things I enjoy in shopping at thrift stores is the odd things that one can find. Today I found a Yamaha Pianica P-25B. This is an old Melodica. From Wikipedia:
Rock out with an Pianica!!!
The melodica, also known as 'blow-organ' is a free-reed instrument similar to the accordion and harmonica. It has a musical keyboard on top, and is played by blowing air through a mouthpiece that fits into a hole in the side of the instrument. Pressing a key opens a hole, allowing air to flow through a reed. The keyboard is usually two or three octaves long.Very strange... Yamaha still makes Pianicas, but the P-25B is long gone and the only references I could find to it were in defunct E-bay auctions.
Rock out with an Pianica!!!
