I do have a blog at www.spiritdrum.org. I started it because some folks suggested that I should and they wanted me to share thoughts etc. I confess, I have not been as committed to it as I would like and am hoping tis year will give me a little more time to write.
To steal from Anna Nalick, "'cause these words are my diary screaming out loud." I like getting feedback on random ideas. In particular for why I choose LJ vs. MySpace or something else, I love the communities here. It's comforting to know no matter how odd my obsessions may seem to some people, I have people out there that share them.
The biggest upside is that I can post about my life and still keep up with scattered friends on a regular basis -- I learn more about them through blogs than I ever could if we just called each other on a regular basis. There's something fascinating about seeing a person through their own words, especially since I think words are the most powerful tool a human being has.
its a good way to keep track of long lost friends and to update them on my life. Its a way to vent and joke with the larger community of my friends when phoning or e-mailing can take too long and is sometimes exhausting.
I blog ( journal is what i call it on here... ) because it is daily writing practice. I blog because it helps me understand my life better. It gives me a way to reflect and remember where I was at. I blog because I have a desperate need to share and to be intimate with others.
