Poem - 3x3

My poem “3x3” refers to the montage of immediate friend’s pictures on the Facebook. Reference sources say that Facebook determines that this group is the most close to you for a variety of reasons. The technical reasons don’t matter. All of these people have a connection in my life, and for that I am glad.

Poem for Day 161 – 20150610

Online friends portrayed in 3x3,
reminders of the outside of me.
Portals to a larger life,
social media’s montage of intimates.

Mutual affairs of interest,
or one sided in their nature.
Past lovers or future friends,
connections at so many levels.

Who are these people?
Dancers, players, fighter, seekers.
So many roles to play.
Soul mates, adventurers, fellow free spirits.

Social site echoes of past lives,
maintaining connections to important ones.
Some existing only on the medium,
of depths varied and interests shared.

Characters spring from postings there,
intense, guiding, struggling,
to mark my day and speak to me,
passionate, giving, beautiful.

3x3, what purpose do they have?
Saving my soul for the one.
Relation to the greater,
the world outside myself.
