Poem - Introduction

A DeviantArt group (The-Poetry-Cafe) has a 100 theme challenge. I have that many, plus more, days left to my year of poetry. The poem “Introduction” is the first of the themes. I've chosen to draw on an aspect that finds itself into many of my poems. Expressing this is an introduction to myself.

Bonus Poem for Day 165 – 20150614

Given over to romance,
over to the lyrics of lovers.
Tunes of ages flow through
my mind to feed my soul.
I'll give myself over to you
if that is what you'll have
in the moment of dance
where we are apart,
completely one with the all.

Given over to romance,
over to the beauty of the world.
Seeing it all in separateness,
relative loveliness waiting
to be seen in shades of expression,
each a slice of divine's nod,
angelic and demonic,
in this space of the seeking
for the thing to make us complete.

Given over to romance,
over to the futility of it all.
To see, and feel, and express,
the breadth of pushing against
the ugliness of what could be
as we embrace what should be.
Lyrics of lovers, beauty of the world,
wrap your arms around this one
as I stake my life on romance.
