Time is a funny thing in the realm of couples dancing. Sometimes it goes on forever. Other times it speeds by. The latter is the topic of my lyrics “Play Another Song.

Poem for Day 213 – 20150801

We danced slow but time went fast.
Our time together was too brief.
I'll not take my leave from this place,
away from the one that I just met.

Play another song to pass the time,
a melody to wrap around.
Spin another record DJ,
I'll dance with this one again.

I'll loose myself in this moment,
every second an eternity.
However brief they may be
I'll spend them no other way.

Father Time have mercy on me,
don't rush the seconds here at hand.
I found the one I've searched for,
relished as the moments speed on by.

The night has flown on time's quick wings.
I suppose we must now depart.
I will if you grant me this one small wish,
stay by my side and never leave.

Play another song to pass the time,
a melody to wrap around.
Spin another record DJ,
I'll dance with this one again.
