Poem - While We Danced
Sep. 3rd, 2015 11:24 amSocial dancing can instantly transform complete strangers to acquaintances with a shared goal. The poem “While We Danced” is an expression of this power.
While We Danced
Poem for Day 245 – 20150903
More than strangers, less than lovers,
brought together by the rapture.
Siren's call of Mother Nature,
desire to dance with another.
Held at arm's length by grasping hands,
a smile's sway holds us in orbit,
questing bodies in need of each
satisfied in the moment of dance.
You are the world to me tonight,
all I need in this space of time.
Fill the hole and plug the void,
hold tight to me while we dance.
Even the sun must one day die,
our time tonight was heaven sent,
we are mere mortals passing through,
burning bright while we danced.
