Poem - The Heart
May. 5th, 2016 10:50 pmI received social media compliments when I let my poetry go a bit more free form. In that spirit I've written “The Heart”.
The Heart
The breeze
is mighty
when the feet
are light
head in the
storm clouds
when
the heart
is dark.
Charades found
so normal
are shadow puppets
of the mind
cast upon
the walls
of a world
content to see
when there are none.
Dance to
distraction
romp to
the charms
of the
lovely hollows
so close
but yet
so far.
Beware the
voices carried
whispered on
puffs of folly
the inner utter
grim tidings
from the
escape of
the edge.
Which is
the mockery
of reality's
fae pageantry
by romp
or bewitch
life's final dodge?
The winds
blow still harder
after the
eye of the storm
disconnected
from earth
when
the heart
is forlorn.
