Poem - Empty My Head
May. 26th, 2016 09:56 pmSo I'm on my 610th day of doing at least one poem per a day. I almost couldn't think of anything. Life is spinning in a handful of directions, I've spoken my mind on some great topics recently, and the well seemed dry. What does a writer do when faced with a lack of literary output? I know... write about the very same!
Empty My Head
Hello says the void
the place of no doing
where the muse is absent
gone to visit another.
The well has run dry
the dust fills the air
witness the flaying
of the poet's last dream.
The topics have flowed
like life I've encountered
is my life now over
with experience now absent?
There is tomorrow
with a day yet to follow
echoes of now
promise the script not delivered.
There is still dance
eye filled with beauty
music's full passion
depression's harsh grip.
Perhaps I've said all
cast words to the air
written on paper
emptied my head.
