Poem - Tears Hover

When life seems too real, but not real at all, tears will hover.


Tears Hover

The tears hover
on the edge
burning hot
as embers caught
in the eyes
too tired of life
yet they look
at beauty’s light
set upon the
flickering screen
cast of thousands
out of reach
figurines poised
to please the eye
mannequins in
still repose
casting shadows
against the walls
two dimensions
flattened there
I can touch
but cannot feel
true to life
as droplets form
double sparks
that touch the eyes.
