Poem - Etched in Words
Dec. 29th, 2017 04:47 pmI use Tumblr as inspiration for the daily production of poetry. There I see images that prompt a wide range of emotions. Some of these make it to the page, there to be seen by the willing readers. Others are held in rapt attention, with the poet daring not share the guilty responses.
Etched in Words
I wish I could write my words
shared at risk with the world
on the parchment of reader’s souls
echo a portion of what I’ve felt
there are realms envisioned there
in the pigments across the hues
evoke the feelings I dare not express
yet still desire to pen to page
all the kink, all the pain
ropes that bind to incite
the human core God imbued
in the sinner with text to share
inked with strokes that retain
a small measure of what I’ve see
in the depths, seen then felt
portrayed beyond colors’ spread
there is more in the grays
the guilty sins I may express
or held to heart lest I fall
on the sword held by pen
in the end I’ll seek to say
with the muse of the bard
just a hint of what could be
viewed emotion etched in words.
