The poem “Ease of Oblivion” is a very dark affair about stepping away from humanity.

Ease of Oblivion

If I hide it's for the best
comfort found in shadows pressed
around the wrong I've become
no longer finding any joy
except in snatches I can't accept
as the monster I've become

this stamp is self-imposed
ignored by the whole
still taint I can't escape
as the outside seems the same
inwardly the stink is too much
existing only to torment the soul

a sacrifice will stop the pain
solitary revelation to be had
resolving God's tortured plan
around the wrong of nature's hand
of my own and other men
the depths of evil’s bliss

now escape seems possible
living in the darkest land
away from eyes of sanity
if I hide there in permanence
rejecting comfort found without
for the ease of oblivion.
