kokopelle: Frank n Furter (Frank-n-Furter)
The imbibing of a lemonade wine cooler inspired me to write the poem “Grog”.

Grog

Drink the grog of memory's wipe,
make calm the angry mind.
Liquid refreshment can refresh,
yet there is more this fine drink.

So many flavors may be had,
mimic the pleasures of normal man.
With the tastes there is much more,
the spirits come to sooth the soul.

Mix the juice with ferment long,
prepared with craft the drinker's choice
made to loose the chains of life,
meant to ease the waking strife.

To walk becomes optional
when the drinks begin to flow.
Uneasy legs, slowed limbs also,
speak the mind and travel not.

Morning next is tough for some,
sound too loud, light to bright.
The ease of life becomes only pain
as self promises no more drinks.

This pledge does not last,
the memory must again be eased.
The spirit asks for drinking same,
to loose the hurt, hide the shame.

The space between creativity and being creatively disabled is being a little buzzed or a lot.

Little Buzzed
Poem for Day 117 – 20150427

To be a little buzzed,
just enough to lift
the edge from life
and not enough to
tip it on its side.

So one skirts the
blurred line.
Find the place.
Reality a bubble
to the right.

Too much is quite
enough.
But to repeat again.
More than enough
gone too far.

Why leave at all?
What is the call?
Reality rough,
departure calls
the weakened soul.

So I impart,
the need to depart,
a bump imbibed,
a little at a time
or all at once.

Poetry is for all occasions, even drunken occasions!

To Poetry Drunk
Poem for Day 053 – 20150224

To poetry drunk is an interesting affair
the origins of such even more so,
perhaps it was the hour, day, or minute,
all that it doesn't matter when the I'm drunken.

A bottle of wine, a quatrain of words,
such is the fruit of imbibing pursuits,
spew the words of poetry extraneous
and hold forth the actual vomitous.

Tip the cup, before it is empty,
imbibe the beverage, fermented so fine.
Write some more poetry, string it along,
drink another cup, drink some more.
