Journey to Ixtlan

So I spent the evening playing Civilization IV.  The world is mine!

I had a dream this morning that reminded me the challenge of learning about others and thus having some level of compassion for them. Everyone has dreams, aspirations, fears and triumphs. To deny this of people makes it so easy to condemn and persecute the unknown peoples. The most unknown people are not merely two dimensional. Those most categorized as enemies are almost one dimensional, a dot that is eliminated with the stroke of an eraser. When we learn and/or realize that others are human, and have those elements that make them three dimensional, it is no longer possible to sweep them aside with a casual stroke. The extension of compassion extends the dimensions of others beyond the three dimensions. Truly relating to others, even those that rankle us, makes us more responsible for our actions to those multi-dimensional beings that share this place.

Playing Bioshock again tonight... boy, it would be nice to do something else during the evening, but cleaning would not be as fun (smile).
