Robin the Princess
Poem for Day 016 - 20141009

Robin was a princess most fair,
in a time most medieval.
Blessed with long red hair,
many considered her quite evil.

She was not content to stay at home.
Her place was not at the court.
Instead she loved to roam,
and quite frankly, to cavort.

Down to the pub she would go,
seeking some bawdy company for sure.
The ale pour and the wine would flow,
along with thoughts most impure.

Serious business was at hand!
A crusade was embarking!
Robin was the first to command,
crush the infidel before winter's bark.

A princess' work is never done!
A mighty dragon was about!
Robin was not be to outdone,
the beast was slain as blood spout.

Finally Robin was ready to settle,
her wondering days were completed.
Her spouse Winter had equal mettle.
A finer couple you'll never meet.

Robin was a princess most fair.
Her title came only from gender,
her subjects would declare.
To convention she would not surrender.
