kokopelle: (Cat Licking)

I've been writing pretty serious blogs for days and days... time for something less serious!

I took Emily to the vet on Tuesday. She was supposed to have been fixed. Well... she's pregnant with only about two weeks to go. It looks like I'll be an uncle. It's a good thing I like cats!

I found out that Emily is about a year old and Prince is about eight months old. Emily is a tiny cat. Prince is a super love bug. His latest "trick" is to wrap himself around my feet when I walk through the house. Yes, his plan works. I am forced to pick him up!

It's immaculate conception! Many males, no ovaries. In theory. Congratulations on your future even more cat-packed house, they're adorable. How is you being forced to pick 'em up a bad thing? *grin*

It is a wonderful thing! When he's not trying to trip me, Prince is such a neat cat. He has really soft fur and is the perfect (nearly) lap cat.

D'awwwww!

Prince is younger? He's huge compared to Emily.

Emily does indeed look heavily pregnant. Look at those nipples. Luna's nipples are permanently out, due to her being pregnant and no one knowing until she was about to have spay surgery. I wonder, do the nipples "recede" after the mother has stopped nursing the kittens?

Emily is a tiny cat. I was told she was a mother once before. I have my fingers crossed! Prince has some more growing to do. He is still very much the kitten in behavior.

OMGZ KITTIES! I LOVE KITTIES!

She may have only one kitten--that wouldn't be too full a house then.

Counting the kids (http://pics.livejournal.com/greensh/pic/00012exg/g11), I have five indoor cats. The oldest, Princess (http://pics.livejournal.com/greensh/pic/0000wahy/g11), does not get along with the two other adults (Caley (http://pics.livejournal.com/greensh/pic/0000pz1b/g11) and Ebony (http://pics.livejournal.com/greensh/pic/0000r7c1/g11)). Because of this I've had to separate my house into two cat-zones. The new kids are staying in Princess' side of the house. Prince (http://pics.livejournal.com/greensh/pic/0000tr6w/g11) is doing his part to terroize Princess. He is probably wants to "play", but Princess reacts with an expression of terror. Everyone calms down later though. This was part of my plan, as Princess used to terrorize Caley and Ebony. She needed to be brought down an alpha notch or two (smile). Anyway, my longterm hope is to have everyone share the house as a single cat-zone.

That long story aside, I can survive with one or two more cats for now. They may have to "live" in the Caley and Prince side of the house after weening though... time will tell.

Hope it all goes well. Heh, I just reminded myself of this girl I new when I was in about fourth grade. Her cat was pregnant and I said "maybe she'll just have one kitten." Her reply was that cats COULDN'T have just one kitten. I insisted that sometimes they did...

and her cat did have just one kitten. It was the most enormous kitten I had ever seen. It was about half the size of its mother when it was born!

Ohh, don't i just love cats! They are wonderful... The last photo is the best, i think, but all of them are very nice) I think cats can give us so much happines and joy, that we are somehow indebted to them. It was touching to read the way you write about these sweeties)
