Wild Animal Safari
Oct. 1st, 2008 10:10 pmWell, tonight I brought the other three cats to the new house. This is something of a challenge given the "cat kingdoms" I had to maintain at my old house. Prince and Emily were in one part of the house. Princess was in her own room. Finally, Ebony and Cali were in my bedroom and bathroom. Why? They couldn't get along. At this point, in the new house, Prince is in the basement and everyone else is upstairs. Prince is a dear with people and an unholy terror to other cats. The only chance for Princess, Ebony and Cali to adapt to the new environment is if Prince is not around to stalk them. I guess we'll see if this new arrangement works in the next few days...

Furniture, Cats and Water
Sep. 16th, 2008 11:15 pmI spent the evening moving furniture at the new house. The entire experience has been a real body work-out. Tonight I was moving furniture that I don't think I could have handled a few months ago. Self-serve gym!
Cats and water don't mix. I'm sure there are indigenous tales about why, but for now I have scratches on my hands from personal experience. I tried to give Emily a bath tonight and she would have none of it! Eventually I had to wrap her in a towel while putting soap lather on her. This worked until I handled the water. With much squirming she eventually ripped free of the towel. Oh well... I love her anyway.

Planning and Kitties

wulfwalker and I went to my new house today to plot and plan how and where I will lay things out. A tentative location was chosen for the labs' pen and the location for the washer and dryer was picked in the basement. Good stuff...Today's picture will be of two of
wulfwalker's outdoor kitties, orange taby Merlin and half bobcat Bellena, and lovely white Arwin.

Jan. 1st, 2008 07:51 pmI recorded some video today of the dogs and cubs. The plan is to use my Adobe Premiere Elements 4 software to make some better product for uploading to E-bay. There are some wrinkles I'm facing, but I am sure this will be an interesting new thing to get into.

Harbingers of Doom?
Jul. 28th, 2007 04:10 pmI believe that I am in incredible danger. There is every sign that I am in my final hours now. What can I do? Nothing... it is too late.
I slept last night with two cats in my bed. This is not unusual. I have one or two of the furry children joining me in my peaceful slumber most every night. Today I learn that my delightful repose with felines comes with an incredible risk.

I took Emily to the vet on Tuesday. She was supposed to have been fixed. Well... she's pregnant with only about two weeks to go. It looks like I'll be an uncle. It's a good thing I like cats!
I found out that Emily is about a year old and Prince is about eight months old. Emily is a tiny cat. Prince is a super love bug. His latest "trick" is to wrap himself around my feet when I walk through the house. Yes, his plan works. I am forced to pick him up!
