Good Busy Developments
Aug. 29th, 2008 10:39 pmThree good busy developments today... I got my occupancy permit from the city for my new house (yeah!) and my new sofa and bedset arrived today, and I got a wireless router to work my with static IP 10/1 broadband connection. Now I just have to put up blinds, install deadbolts, and wire ethernet wire through the house (and many more things). Next weekend the satellite and DVRs get installed... and then I'll be cooking with gas!

Evil Weeds!
May. 27th, 2008 11:00 pmI went to the new house today to spray herbicide on the evil poison ivy. DIE DIE DIE... sorry, lost my mind there for a moment. My general contractor is supposed to start on the rewiring this week. Yeah!
This is a picture of Horus playing with a piece of grass.

Bad House in Clinton
Jan. 4th, 2008 11:15 pmIs there such a thing as a bad house? My mate and I have talked about all of the abandoned locations we’ve seen. We theorize that there are two types of abandoned properties.
( An explantion about places and our thoughts... )
Does the house I found in Clinton share the phenomenon of negative taped loops? What repels both my mate and myself from this house? We don’t know, but I wanted to share both our impressions and pictures of the Clinton house so you can decide for yourself. What are your opinions on ‘bad houses’, and are they truly rare amongst all of the abandoned places we explore with such relish?

Lines and Another House Pic
Oct. 19th, 2007 10:11 pmMy love of photography extends from a fascination of lines and spaces. I think my focus on abandoned places is partially explained by this. An abandoned place has its original lines of function and utility. The building existed for a reason and had a life defined by that purpose. An abandoned building has new lines of decay from the press of time and elements. The result is a picture that has unique lines that straddle worlds of life and death (aka change).
I've looked around my house to see interesting lines. The picture below is of a bulletin board above my desk. I've run it through a graphics program with an 'oil painting' tweak. The picture is an interesting study in lines, elements and space. I also placed a frame around the picture. The frame is a bit cheesy. I think I'll leave that off in future pics. For your consideration...
