I've written way too many serious poems recently So, as an extreme change, I wrote the poem “Romance Tonight”. It is all about cats... yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!


Romance Tonight

If urges were tigers
tigers were wooing
I'd be dating
a cougar tonight.

If wishes were kittens
kittens were kisses
I'd be smooching
a housecat tonight.

If hopes were tabbies
tabbies were cuddles
I'd be hugging
a jaguar tonight.

If fancies were felines
felines were fondling
I'd be petting
a puma tonight.

Tigers and kittens
tabbies and felines
it sounds like I'm focused
on romance tonight!

It's been an interesting day... but I will write about the tale another time. For now I want to share something that I wrote in the past...

I was recently accused of "evil manipulative kitty icon usage". It is I who is innocent. The truly evil ones are the cats!

It is true. Cats are evil transdimensional beings. We are their pawns. Pray for Mercy!

Fear them if you dare!

How do you know it is Dr. Evil's cat?

My status as a tech geek gives me "reason" to critique how authors use computers in books. I am listening to Robert Ludlum's book "The Paris Option". This tale features the "DNA Computer" that has the ability to hack into anything by virtue of its amazing parallel processing power. The computer guy in me says, "that's fine, but how are you interfacing all that power to the outside world? Ten or a million computers would be equally bottle necked by whatever connection they have with the rest of the computer world. AND... (smile), having a super fast computer does not mean it automatically knows how to hack into every other computer and change their programs/access codes. The guy that created the DNA computer did not appear to be a hacker. But what the heck, it is just entertainment... (enter tap dancing, singing frog... "hello my baby, hello my darling, hello my ragtime gal...")

Today's picture features Guinevere, the last of wulfwalker's outside kitties. Guinevere is a bit grumpy, not always getting along with the other cats. It may be my imagination, but the look on her face in this picture conveys her sour disposition.

I went to the new house today to spray herbicide on the evil poison ivy. DIE DIE DIE... sorry, lost my mind there for a moment. My general contractor is supposed to start on the rewiring this week. Yeah!

This is a picture of Horus playing with a piece of grass. wulfwalker is on the other end providing the tantalizing motion!

I learned today about a breed of cat called the "Munchkin".

Munchkin cats are a relatively new breed created by a random mutation that produced a cat with extremely short legs. Munchkin cats have short or long coats in a wide variety of colors. Because of this cat's short stature, munchkins are particularly adept at climbing and jumping. The Munchkin cat is usually raised as an indoor cat, although they are reported to be extremely active, agile and fast runners.

Mortal Combat kitten style. The kittens are now in the sleep-fight-sleep-fight rhythm. I am watching "Uncle" Prince sit there while the kittens attack his tail. It looks like some kind of gladiator school.



Meanwhile, Princess has moved to the other side of the house and has an uneasy truce with Ebony and Cali. They have their own rooms with the bathroom being a no-man's land. It is a better arrangement than Prince - ninja bully - keeping Princess cornered on furniture. Ah... the joys of cat society.
